·   Challenges:  Little to no project management existed and the project was in chaos. In time-sensitive and highly regulated environment, identified issues, defined projects, and pulled together a team from three disparate locations. Had to modify internal accounting practices to build team.

·   Managed a total of 3 software managers, 59 people on this effort which included the creation of a web enabled analytical and diagnostic software product for the AXSYM2 hardware already designed and prototype for release.

·   Changed the Top heavy RUP methodology to simplified, shorter iterative releases, tightly coupled software configuration and effective software testing regimes

·   Managed and designed a training program around the proof of concept to educate people on testing and development efforts

·   Packing Engineering- designing solution packages and interoperability Testing

·   Managed the development of FDA regulated release of AXSYM2 Project; this was a turn around project, following a fast paced re-engineering of related processes.

The following breaks down a 6-year Enterprise effort with British Gas/ other clients. The initial project was only to integrate the Billing module with existing process and applications. However, this proved to be so successful that full lifecycle implementations were selected for General Ledger, Asset Management and Budgeting. ·   Budget Size:  $16 million, Personnel Managed:  28

·   Project Goals:  Integrate Peoplesoft Billing Module to existing processes and SAP SD

·   Notable Accomplishments:  Success of this project led to full Peoplesoft lifecycle implementations

·   Challenges:  Existing databases and functionality were non-Peoplesoft applications; had to integrate Invoicing & Billing module with existing LodeStar databases which were maintained on a separate platform. Responsible for customer interface, requirement gathering, Gas Firm system architectural and processes protocol.

·   Managed the development of Energy Management Solutions including : Load Balancing systems(LBS) Distributed Outage Management system(DOMS), and Demand Forecasting system (DFS)

·   Led design, Architecture and analysis teams and the development effort for the ERP implementation.

·   Led the conversion of 120 application certification for year 2000

·   Managed the creation, leadership, establishment and operations of a PMO.

ERP-ENTERPRISE GENERAL LEDGER INTEGRATION IMPLEMENTATION

·   Budget Size:  $10 m (does not include personnel costs), Personnel Managed:  40

·   Project Goals:  Full lifecycle Peoplesoft implementation of G/L and Purchasing Modules. Also integrate Peoplesoft  for Gas Firm with SAP MM.

·   Notable Accomplishments:  Success of this project led to additional Peoplesoft full lifecycle implementation

·   Challenges:  Business units reluctant to commit resources; management did not share a common vision. Created a schematic that modeled how internal business units communicated and shared data and how that would be reflected in the Peoplesoft implementation as British Gas moved from manual processes to automation. Showed “birds-eye” view of 15 G/L areas. This helped build consensus among business units and led to agreement and a united vision.

·   Primarily responsible for analysis of processes, creating of Statement of Work, creation and adherence to schedule of work, overall system architecture, and requirements.

·   Led design, architecture and analysis teams and the development effort for the ERP implementation.

·   Managed the creation, leadership, establishment and operations of a PMO and stakeholder management.

·   Architecture: Customized Zachman with UML detailed representation. Development standards.

 

ERP-ENTERPRISE ASSET MANAGEMENT IMPLEMENTATION

·   Budget Size:  $14m Personnel Managed:  28

·   Project Goals:  Full lifecycle Peoplesoft implementation of Asset Management Module.

·   Notable Accomplishments:  Success of this project led to additional Peoplesoft full lifecycle implementation.

·   Challenges:  After the success of the Peoplesoft Billing integration and the G/L Implementation, consensus and buy-in on the part of the business units already existed. The challenges here were logistics – this implementation spanned several geographic locations affecting resource allocation and management.

·   Primarily responsible for managing both functional and technical teams, data gathering and analysis,  project plan.

ERP- ENTERPRISE BUDGETING IMPLEMENTATION

·   Budget Size:  $11.2 million (does not include personnel costs), Personnel Managed:  25

·   Project Goals:  Full lifecycle SAP FI-CO implementation of Integrated Budgeting Module.

·   Notable Accomplishments:  Implementation streamlined so rapid deployment was achieved.

·   Challenges:  10 teams represented by CPA’s were involved. Challenges included bringing them to agreement on how business processes should function.

·   Functioned as engagement manager and Architect on this project

·   Based on experience gained from previous SAP FI-CO implementations, was able to create a smaller yet more efficient team. Created Best practice guidelines.

·   Conducted a series of JAD/ Blue Print sessions on every part of the budgeting processes. These design sessions lasted approximately 3 months but led to a rapid and successful implementation that lasted only 9 months

(Other Utility  Work ):Esso Petroleum: Pipeline Network Estimator Project  to analyze a design and build a schematic Model for simulating trading Petroleum in leased UK transport pipelines (1993-1996)

 (Other Utility  Work ): Concurrently there was also contracted with Thames Water to analyze a design approach for a Peoplesoft Upgrade from Version 6. 0 to 7.5. This was to take advantage of the advanced Portals/Presentation layer which had been improved for GL modules. Responsibility was solely to create the design approach which was then implemented internally.

·   Project Goals:  Full lifecycle implementation of Market Redesign, Clearing Engine, enrollment & Billing Modules.

·   Role Account Manager/Project Manager/ 1+5 year – multi-year integration & Implementation of deregulated energy management and trading systems

·   Project management and architecture and market redesign for Compulsory competitive energy market UK-CC Act 1992. Led a team of analysts, re-designers and development/ implementation for London electricity Distribution services Division and wholesale Management. Project spent first year on the re-design of the energy market as we know it and presented a research study outcome of the implications and challenges of the market re-design.

·   The years 2-6 years were working with the (B2B) marketers and distributors of energy services including transmission companies, distribution utilities and Retail electric Providers. Developing a balancing Energy Market clearing engine integrated with LodeStar CCS/ EIP Modules for Contract Management, account management, Rating, Pricing, enrollment, Aggregation, billing and settlements.
